Monday, Dec 19 - Japanese
One quick note... one of my frequent dining companions has asked not to appear here anymore. Not that anyone reads this anyway, but I will certainly honor their request.I check out the new Japanese place at the corner of N Denver and N Portland, Ukiyoe. Ukiyoe translates to 'pictures of a floating world,' but more commonly refers to woodblock prints. I try a few rolls (one tuna and one cucumber). I don't usually eat sushi, actually, I don't ever eat sushi, but my companion made me try them. A little wasabi and a little soy. To be honest, they seemed a little bland. Again, let me say I have next to no experience with sushi, so these may have been just fine.
I also had beef teriyaki with rice and veggies. I found them to be quite tasty. The edamame we ordered never showed up.
Overall, pretty good, but nothing to write home about.
Pictured above? Not what I ate, but what might be the best looking piece of sushi I have ever seen...

What about a code name? No? Still creepy? Too bad.
