Tuesday Nov 1, 2005 - Lunch

I failed once again to bring a bag lunch from home (one of my cost (and calorie) saving measures). My standby is to get a big salad from this place near our warehouse. Its called The Dockside. This is place where "the man" found the evidence to implicate Tanya Harding in the assault on Nancy Kerrigan so long ago.

At any rate, a decent salad. Mainly iceberg (I like the crunch), decent amount of turkey and ham, 2 kinds of cheese, tomatoes, and on the side, one of their homemade biscuits. I have them hold the olives. Organic 1st press Spanish olive oil from the office and a dash of balsamic takes care of the dressing.

And, a glass of wine, of course.

I wonder if Alma wishes she could have lunch too.

Oh, and a good poem on iceberg lettuce can be found at http://writersalmanac.publicradio.org/programs/2001/08/13/, just scroll down to Wed, 8/15/01...
