Wednesday, Jan 4 - Lunch at Caprial's

I left my leftover Thai food at home this morning. Lucky for my, I was making a sales call to Caprial's Bistro. There is usually a bit of a wait to see Caprial, and I can gossip with my fellow sales reps who are also waiting. Today is no exception. Four reps are ahead of me in line, and one of them has a 'ride with.' I could be here for hours, and I must see Caprial today as she will be out for the next 6 weeks filming the next season of her TV show.

Behind me, CH, a friend and fellow rep arrives, and we agree to grab a table and get lunch while we wait. I order first and get one of the specials, flatiron steak skewers with ginger rice and peanut sauce. CH orders next and gets the same thing. We chose well. Meat was tender and flavorful, rice was good, and the sauce was spicy and lively. On the side, some of the Bistro's homemade bread. Delish.

We finish our meals before our turn is up, so CH wants to order more food. He gets seafood chowder, and I get 'Turtle Torte,' ganache, mousse, walnuts, caramel. Coffee on the side.

We finally get to see Caprial, and I place a new wine on the glass list. The wait was worth it.
