Monday Nov 28 - What's Pho Breakfast?

My first day back in Portland (and don't worry, faithful readers, I will post Thanksgiving trip meals soon...). My flight was horribly delayed, resulting in a 3 hr late arrival at the unsavory time of 1:30 AM. SF was SUPER nice, met me at the airport, and gave me a ride home.

Later that same morning (10-ish), while SF's car is being serviced, we walk across the street to Pho Oregon and indulge in some tasty Vietnamese beef noodle soup. Late breakfast, early lunch, somewhere in between? She gets the regular size, and since I haven't eaten in around 24 hrs due to traveling, I get the large. The large ends up being too much. Noodles, beef, tasty broth, lime, bean sprouts, Thai basil, and wild cilantro. YUM!

BTW - A nice review of Pho Oregon at extramsg. "Their pho ($5.50 small, $6.00 large) is arguably the best in the city -- fragrant and well-balanced, rich without being overly greasy, fresh herbs and tender meat." Link to http://www.extramsg.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=117
