Saturday, Dec 24 - Homemade Pizza

OK, so the crust came from New Seasons. I've never had luck making pizza crusts, and I usually don't have the time to wait for it to rise...

So, New Seasons crust, olive oil, fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, basil, hot sopressata, salt, pepper, oregano, and red pepper flakes.

I also pull some wine from the cellar. I figure it's nearly Christmas, so I something nice is in order. As it is just me, I plan to have half a bottle tonight and the other half tomorrow. I locate a 1999 Chapoutier Cote Rotie 'Les Becasses." This, I believe, is the last bottle I still have from my trip to France roughly 4 years ago. I crack it open and immediately pour half into a 375 ml bottle and seal it for consumption tomorrow. Again, as it is the holidays, I pull out my fancy Riedel Syrah stem (you know, the one that is so big it looks like you can stick your head into it?). Pour a little and stick my nose in, and it is corked. At least it think it is. I keep smelling and tasting as the meal progresses, and the TCA aroma gets worse. Bummer.
