Sat, Jan 14 - Salsa a la Gardener

Nachos again. I have to finish up the ingredients, right? Next week, healthier eating, for reals.

I am a bit low on salsa, but then it occurs to me that I have a back-up. Late in the summer/early in the fall, I lent my kitchen to the gardener (who has now made the blog twice in a week and will be getting a big head) for the purpose of canning. Me, not much of a canner, but I offer to help. She brings over empty jars, lids, and food to can. We can peaches, apples, salsa, and who knows what else. Big mess, sticky, but fun. And for my trouble? A couple cans of preserves from the gardener. One of those jars? Yep, you guessed it, salsa.

Today, I've got no onion, so the nachos are a bit plainer than usual. Cheese, salt, oregano, red pepper (ground, not flakes), and chips. And, a bowl of salsa. The salsa is good, but I tend to like mine limier and with mas cilantro.
