Wednesday, Jan 11 - Carrot Cake

No one at the office brought lunch. We order up a round of chef salads from the Dockside. I won't go into the details, as loyal readers will know about dressings, toppings, etc.

The real treat of lunch was dessert. I got a call from the gardener on Tuesday during the day, saying she had baked a carrot cake and couldn't eat it all (she corrected herself by saying she COULD eat it all, but didn't want to). Could she leave some on my porch? Certainly.

I'm not a big carrot cake fan, but this was the BEST cake I have had in recent memory. Fantastically moist, amazing frosting (which I have to believe was homemade), no raisins, extra nuts (I don't like raisins, I do like nuts). Everyone at the office had a bit, and all agreed it was the real deal, the best. Thanks to the gardener for her generosity.
