Monday Oct 31, 2005 - Dinner
OK. So I admitted to liking Roux in my lunch post. So, I went there for dinner too. Dined with Lady E. and Sweet D. Fried green tomatoes, pumpkin fritters with fennel jam, butter lettuce salad with buttermilk dressing, leek and potato soup, composed cheese plate with Bittersweet Farms "Fleur-de-Teche," a triple cream cow's milk cheese with vegetable ash served with figs, and vanilla bean truffles. Outstanding. To drink? Greyhound, an Austrian Blaufrankish blend, and an Italian Aglianico. Mmm mm mmm.
Alma? She head Ocean Fish Formula tonight, accented with yard grass and, presumably, a few bugs for extra protein.
Monday Oct 31, 2005 - Lunch
I love
Roux. Mmmm. While delivering a wine order, I picked up one of the outstanding Chaurice Po-Boy sandwiches at their deli, Bon Temps. A tasty rice/chicken/okra stew on the side, and a delicious cookie to boot. Yummy!
Monday Oct 31, 2005 - Breakfast
Nothing scarier than running out of cream for your morning coffee. I narrowly avoided this disaster today. Just enough to take care of the mug at home, and the travel mug for the office (a little less than I usually use, but enough). No food. This, as I am sure you will see, will be a trend. French press coffee with beans from
Stumptown.
Alma had chicken.
Sunday Oct 30, 2005 - Dinner
Leftovers. More tortilla soup. More bread. New beer (Traquair House Jacobite Ale, an ale flavored with Coriander).
Alma had lamb and rice. The soup was good, but she may have won tonight.
Sunday Oct 30, 2005 - Lunch
Homemade tortilla soup, bread, Okocim porter from Poland (aged 3 years in my cellar).
While watching the Blair Witch Project and doing laundry.
