Allright. This has got to stop. I can't keep going to Roux. It's just that their sandwiches are really, really good.

Miss Tasty and I were on our way to NoPo to set up for the Apple Battle Royale. Seemed like a good idea to call ahead and get po-boys from Roux. It's close to my place, close to New Seasons (the source for the apples), and I like it. Isn't that reason enough? Miss Tasty calls 411 to get the number. They gladly make us sandwiches, even though they are closing in 5 minutes. We get there 20 minutes later, and they couldn't have been nicer. They even slipped a couple of tiny cakes into our bag. Thanks Roux!

On to New Seasons for the apples. Miss Tasty considered sitting in the car and eating her po-boy while I shopped (the smell was amazing), but consented to come inside. 10 kinds of apples, 1 bottle local dry hard apple cider, and a baguette for palette cleansing. We pay up, hop in the car, speed to my place, and proceed to DEVOUR our food. Me, andouille po boy and side of coleslaw, Miss Tasty, andouille po boy and a side of potato salad.

We finish our food (but not the dessert) before all the guests arrive. Apples, apples, and more apples. This morning, while cleaning up, I find the cakes still on the counter. I guess I have dessert for lunch today.

Alma chowed on some chicken (although I am quite certain she would have been happier with Andouille).
